The following lines, taken from the celebrated Capt.
Gulliver's Travels, when a proposal was made at Lilliput, to
admit the Negroes into their assemblies, may afford some
pleasure at this time.
THE CONSTITUTION.
Hail, happy land, nor King nor Peer,
Shall here excite your hope or fear;
Distinctions all, are thrown aside,
Ambition dead; no room for pride:
